Deadfall Dance
Deadfall Dance, directed by Judith Wombwell, was founded to cultivate creative collaborations and to explore innovative techniques of developing movement. Besides the natural kinesthetic implications, the name derives from the Native American tradition of making use of downed wood; in a similar fashion, Deadfall Dance uses available resources. Deadfall consists of a group of artists working in the Greater Boston and Western Ma areas The work is strongly influenced by post-modern dance, the visual arts, multi media work, and is inspired by explorations of literature, philosophy and man’s relationship to the natural world.

Hyperbole Dance
Named for the literary concept of an exaggeration for dramatic effect, Hyperbole Dance explores and reflects human narratives using a theatrical blend of modern and jazz styles. Established in 2012 by artistic director Nikki Sell, the company's work aims to provoke an emotional response from it's audience. “For me, dance has always been about expression,” says Ms. Sell about her work. “Expression of what I can’t say with words, what I am afraid to say, or not supposed to say. For every moment I have been struck speechless with emotion, there is a dance.” In its first season, Hyperbole presented its debut concert, "Telling Stories," in Cambridge and Marblehead; was presented by Spoke the Hub/Gowanus Guest Room in Brooklyn, New York; and made guest appearances at East Rock Dance Theater in New Haven, Connecticut, and the Dance NorthEast Festival in Rochester, New Hampshire.
